Method and Inquiry

Method and Inquiry is a public, citable educational resource library covering research methods in the social sciences. It serves students and researchers at all levels — BA, MA, and PhD — across both methodological topics (research design, literature review, epistemology, experiments) and implementation topics (R programming, data cleaning, visualization, regression).
Resources are written to stand on their own. Each page covers one task or concept, takes 20–40 minutes to work through, and generates its own citation so you can reference it in a course outline or research paper.
Please note that this hub is a work in progress and gets updated and extended regularly. Feedback is very welcome. Please use the Github Issue Tracker.1
Where do you want to go?
Resource Library
Browse or search individual resource pages by topic, level, and content type. Filter by category or use the search box to find what you need.
Learning Tracks
Curated learning paths that sequence resources into a coherent progression — useful if you want to build up knowledge on a topic rather than find a single reference.
Blog
Editorial commentary, updates, and notes on new resources and how they fit together. Also contains some analyses of and tutorials on contemporary methodological issues.
Teaching
An index of courses that use this hub as a supporting resource or cover related topics; with links to their separate course sites.
The hub is edited by Claudius Gräbner-Radkowitsch. All resource pages are citable — each page shows a full citation block at the bottom that you can copy directly.
Footnotes
This requiers a Github account. I strongly recommend having one and this would also facilitate the work for me tremendously. In case you do not have and do not want such account, please contact Claudius directly.↩︎
